Rio is the top show prospect out of our 1st breeding of Zoro and Desi. He was the "surprise" puppy, and there's nothing like saving the best for last. Rio went Best Of Breed and earned a Puppy Sporting Group 4th at his first fun match, and gained his first two show points at his first shows in September 2004, receiving Winner's Dog both days at 6 months of age. He took a deserved break after the National Specialty show in Arkansas in November to return to the show ring in March at Scottsdale Dog Fanciers show with several more wins. Rio completed his AKC championship in style at the San Diego Brittany Club Specialty with a prestigious major specialty win and Best Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes. He completed his Junior Hunter Title at the age of 14 months, the week after he completed his AKC Championship. Rio is everything we hoped he would be. In two months of being shown as a Special at under 2 years of age, Rio has received 11 Best of Breed wins and 1 Group 4th. Rio is proudly owned by Gourley's Brittanys.

Rio was campaigned by Valerie Nunes-Atkinson and Peter Atkinson in 2007 and finished the year as #7 in Breed Statistics and #9 in All Breed Statistics at 3 years of age.

Rio received a Group 4 win in Roswell, New Mexico under Judge Holloway in September.
